Personal Training is available in your home or anywhere else you plan to exercise. I work with you to develop or refine your exercise program, teaching form, technique, different types, and intensities of exercises. This is very helpful for those who want to avoid injury, boredom, and lack of results. Many people find that the frequency of training sessions is determined more by their personal need for accountability than their fitness ability. Some people set up just one or two sessions to get started and others like to meet weekly or every other week just to stay on track.
Lifestyle Wellness Coaching focuses on your health improvement goals from a broader perspective. Coaching incorporates exercise, nutrition, stress management, and more to help you determine how to make changes you can live with. Coaching focuses on understanding your life, needs, likes and dislikes, and your goals. Strategies are always set based on what you are ready, willing, and able to do. Coaching is ideal for those trying to lose weight especially when better health is the motivation.
Packages are available for either Personal Training and/or Lifestyle Wellness Coaching.
All Package sessions must be used within 6 weeks from date of purchase or they are forfeited.

What an exciting time for Jana’s Jym! I am sad to have to close the circuit center but excited about the new class locations and boot camps coming up. I’m also looking forward to spending time with some of you on Wellness Coaching and Personal Training. Four Weeks to a Flatter Stomach
This program incorporates meal plans and attitude shifting to help you reach your goals and become healthier for the rest of your life. The exercise sessions alternate between interval training days, power walking and/or running days, and core conditioning and flexibility training. This would meet Monday through Friday early in the morning. 5:30 am. $100.00
Barefoot Yoga BootCamp
This is a barefoot class that includes cardio, strength, flexibility, and core work with willpower and grace. This would meet twice a week in the evenings for four weeks. $50.00
Bad Knees Boot Camp
This Boot Camp is geared towards those in their 40’s, 50’s, & 60’s - a low impact interval training program to increase stamina, strengthen your core, improve bone density, and increase your range of motion. Food Awareness training included. This would meet twice a week in the evenings for four weeks. $50.00

Cost is $15 - of which, $10 will go into the winners pot! There will be two winners: Most pounds lost, and highest percent of bodyweight lost. (not bodyfat%). Each time you weigh in, you must pay $1 for every pound gained from your last weigh-in. Those dollars are added to the winner’s pot. The two winners will split the pot on the 15th.
As always I encourage healthy, slow (1-2 pounds per week) weight loss through nutritious balanced eating and regular exercise and sleep patterns. Each week, you’ll be asked to name one specific healthy goal you have for the week. For example, “I’m going to eat spinach in a wrap sandwich on Mon, Wed, & Fri this week.”
Weigh-ins on Mondays (7am-10am; 4:30pm-8pm). Contest begins Monday, Jan 11th and ends February 22nd.
Why make New Year’s Resolutions? It’s not just the fact that another year has passed and here we are still fighting many of the same battles over food, exercise, time management, clutter control, enough sleep, enough quality time with loved ones, and financial struggles… wow - that’s a lot to handle…
It also happens to come right after a season of joy, filled with time celebrating with loved ones - family and friends, shopping for the perfect gifts, baking and cooking the things of tradition that connect us with our pasts; in short, a very busy season for many and often somewhat exhausting. Most of the time we let some things slide during the holidays; things like exercise and healthy food choices, and sleep…
So the New Year really is the perfect time to refocus, re-prioritize, and repair & revitalize our lives. What changes do you WANT to make? What things do you WANT to bring into your life? What things do you WANT less of? And what are you going to DO about it?
For example, I WANT to be less rushed and overwhelmed and I WANT to be more organized. So what do I want to do about it? I’m going to get rid of some of the physical clutter in my home but also some of the time committment clutter on my schedule. Do I WANT to do this? Yes. Am I more likely to do it because I want to as well as need to? Yes!
Schedule a wellness coaching session, take a class, sit in on a Lunch & Learn at the Well Lounge on Main St, go for a walk, sign up for the New Year - New You contest at the Jym, do something good for yourself this year, this week, this day!

The activity and food choices we make are a part of our daily lives whether we realize it or not. No matter how busy you are, how out of shape, or how baffled by all the advice… You can live a healthier longer better life when you take an active role in the choices you have. Many people don’t want to go to a gym. There are all kinds of reasons but it’s all okay… You can be active at home, on the job, in your neighborhood. Picture yourself in 10 years - how do you want to be? Do you want to be strong? Fit? Disease free? Do you want to be able to walk around without help? Do you want to be eating healthy nutritious food - most of the time? Do you want to spend very little time at the doctor’s office?
Jana’s Jym is not just a place. It’s “Wellness - wherever you are.” Whether it’s part of your food choices or your activity level or your lifestyle in general… A single coaching session can result in a change in your health that YOU make because you are able, willing, and ready to make that change. I want to help you succeed and have permanent rather than temporary results. And when you are ready for another change, we can meet again.
Personal Training - in the home or in the workplace or in the Jym - is a directed exercise session with exercises chosen based on YOUR goals, not mine and not your doctor’s and not your spouse’s.
At the Jym itself, we offer all kinds of classes and most of them are only 30 minutes and so they are easier to fit into busy schedule. We have classes for beginners and as well as those who’ve been exercising for awhile.

I have always believed that “Jana’s Jym” was inspired in my heart by God. It has long been my heart’s desire to make my “work” life a life of teaching, inspiring, and encouraging people to improve their physical well-being. I have prayed about the best ways to make Jana’s Jym be a successful way to accomplish this. As you all know, financial constraints and time constraints prevent many people from exercising at a gym. Due to these issues, Jana’s Jym has experienced a 50% decline in revenue from Jym memberships for the last several months. As we hadn’t quite reached the break-even point yet, this has hurt tremendously. I can no longer afford to keep the Jym open in it’s present manner. The vast majority of our members attend in the evenings and early mornings and most of you come for classes. I am doing my best to keep that available.
Effective November 1st, Jana’s Jym will be open from 7:00 - 10:00 am and from 4:30 - 8:00 pm Monday - Friday, and 8:00 - 11:00 am on Saturdays. These hours may change again if I am not successful in my hunt for part-time income. At least temporarily, if you wish to use the Jym during the day, I will be happy to meet you here at whatever time we can arrange.
Because of the drop in hours, I am reducing the membership fee to $25/month which still includes all our regularly scheduled classes. You ladies who are 60 or Better, will still pay only $20/month.
In addition to looking for part-time work during the day, I am also seeking clients who would like to improve their health but don’t want to go to a gym. I have always offered in-home or in-office appointments for personal training and wellness coaching but am now hoping to reach out more with this. In the past I have worked with a variety of needs from home-based clients. Some find their best success with a twice a week appointment and some choose to meet only once a month or quarter. A typical wellness coaching session is a focused planning session that gives a client a specific plan for making change, limiting the scope of change to what is realistically feasible at this point in time, and the means to achieve that change. Wellness coaching results more often intrue healthy lifestyle behaviors and longterm success. A personal training session is a trainer guided exercise session with client’s goals as the focus. If a client wants to exercise but is not sure what to do to start seeing results, then personal training can be quite valuable. Personal Training is also helpful in breaking out of a rut or overcoming a plateau in your goals.
If you know of anyone who might benefit from either of these services, please let them call me or ask if I may call them.
Statistics say that only 15% of the population exercises at a gym. The remaining 85% either exercise at home or don’t exercise at all. I want to encourage them in that they can be healthier and they can be fitter and they can reduce the risk of early death or disease and they can improve their health even if they already have disease.

We’ve got a great new evening schedule - lots of the old favorites and a few new classes too. Variety is the spice of life! The Barefoot Cardio class is a hoot! Talk about a calorie burning, core strengthening half hour that also re-awakens our feet. Our poor, tired, overworked, overprotected, over-orthodic’d feet. We’re kicking off our FALL FITNESS CHALLENGE this week - Sign up now!
Each week you’ll set a goal to meet 4 requirements to get your name and/or picture on the WALL OF FAME.
#1 - Measure in Weekly (you choose the day and the type of measurement you’ll be tracking) weight; neck measurement; or arm measurement.
#2 - Get 1.5 hours of fitness at the Jym - this can be classes or cardio or circuit training - it’s up to you!
#3 - Meet the nutrition goal of the week: for example, nutrition goal for week #1: get 1 cup of fruit daily.
#4 - Turn in a food journal when you measure in each week.
If you complete all six weeks, we have a t-shirt for you! The best benefit, however, of joining the challenge will be the changes you see in yourself. Making lifestyle changes for a healthier you is a process - you’ll find ideas that will fit in your life that you’ll want to maintain forever. And that is where lasting results come from!
