Thursday’s Class Changes

Beginning the 27th of June, the THURSDAY 8:00 AM WATER AEROBICS and the THURSDAY 5:00 PM AEROBICS are cancelled. My new work schedule unfortunately does not allow enough time for those classes. We will still have the 5:30 Yoga-laties class with JoNell when she is in town. And please join us for some of our other classes. Have a great summer!

Well Summer is upon us and it’s gonna be HOT!  Come join us in the pool for a water exercise class at Hidden Creek Estates clubhouse. 

Jana’s Jym classes are now sold on a punchcard - 10 classes for $20.00 and 20 classes for $35.00.  Cards expire in 6 weeks.  Cards are good for CHILDCARE also (morning classes only and advance reservations are required).  Visit the Classes page for the summer schedule.  We’ve got step aerobics, water exercise, core conditioning, guts & butts, regulare aerobics, and yoga!

Our June boot camp for beginning runners is racing merrily along - we’re having fun running around the City Lake Park pond and learning techniques to increase stamina and endurance as well as stretches to minimize injury risk and soreness.

We’re doing two boot camps in July:

     Boot Camp Basics will be Mon-Wed-Fri at 5:30 am at the Hidden Creek Clubhouse - cost is $75 for the month long bootcamp.  Repeat Campers take off 20%.  Read more on our Boot Camp page.

     Barefoot Boot Camp will be Tue-Thu at 5:30 am at the Hidden Creek Clubhouse - cost is $50 and again, repeat campers get 20% off.  This is a great way to cross train as well as rediscover the power, strength, and stability in your bare feet!  And you’ll sweat!  For more information see our Boot Camp page.

Registration deadline June 29th - 10% late fee for registrations after the 29th.  Camps start on July 1st (no camp on July 5th or 27th).  Camps will run with a minimum of 8 campers each.

Revive your SOLES - with this Barefoot Bootcamp!  Designed to provide stability & balance, shock absorption, and the springboard from which we leap into life - our feet have been cheated and deconditioned and abused.  This Boot Camp is a combination of yoga, low impact/high calorie cardio, and pilates.  Strengthen your whole body, while reawakening the power of your feet!  Tue-Thu in July - Cost is $50.00

Personal Training is available in your home or anywhere else you plan to exercise.  I work with you to develop or refine your exercise program, teaching form, technique, different types, and intensities of exercises.  This is very helpful for those who want to avoid injury, boredom, and lack of results.  Many people find that the frequency of training sessions is determined more by their personal need for accountability than their fitness ability.  Some people set up just one or two sessions to get started and others like to meet weekly or every other week just to stay on track.

 

Lifestyle Wellness Coaching focuses on your health improvement goals from a broader perspective.  Coaching incorporates exercise, nutrition, stress management, and more to help you determine how to make changes you can live with.  Coaching focuses on understanding your life, needs, likes and dislikes, and your goals.  Strategies are always set based on what you are ready, willing, and able to do.  Coaching is ideal for those trying to lose weight especially when better health is the motivation.

 

Packages are available for either Personal Training and/or Lifestyle Wellness Coaching.

 

All Package sessions must be used within 6 weeks from date of purchase or they are forfeited.

 

All prices are for sessions in Royse City limits – there is a 10% surcharge for sessions meeting outside city limits of Royse City.

 

Initial session (approximately 75 minutes) $50.00

Follow up sessions

            1-hour             $35.00

            30-minute       $20.00

Check out the “classes classes everywhere” entry again - the ESC building and fundraiser has been put on hold so all classes will be held at the HCE Clubhouse at least until summer… Also I shifted a couple classes around…

What an exciting time for Jana’s Jym!  I am sad to have to close the circuit center but excited about the new class locations and boot camps coming up.  I’m also looking forward to spending time with some of you on Wellness Coaching and Personal Training.  Check out our new class schedule and also read about our boot camps (there’s even one for “mature” adults!)

Four Weeks to a Flatter Stomach       

            This program incorporates meal plans and attitude shifting to help you reach your goals and become healthier for the rest of your life.  The exercise sessions alternate between interval training days, power walking and/or running days, and core conditioning and flexibility training.  This would meet Monday through Friday early in the morning.  5:30 am.  $100.00

Barefoot Yoga BootCamp

            This is a barefoot class that includes cardio, strength, flexibility, and core work with willpower and grace.  This would meet twice a week in the evenings for four weeks.  $50.00

Bad Knees Boot Camp  

            This Boot Camp is geared towards those in their 40’s, 50’s, & 60’s - a low impact interval training program to increase stamina, strengthen your core, improve bone density, and increase your range of motion.  Food Awareness training included.  This would meet twice a week in the evenings for four weeks.  $50.00

Good News!  Jana’s Jym is looking for larger space for classes!  Location of new classes will be announced sometime in February!

Sad News!   Jana’s Jym will be closing the circuit training room when we move classes at the end of February.

We will have a new class schedule up in a few days so stay tuned!  I was working on it but then got Strep throat so give me a couple days and we’ll get back on track!

The Jym is closed Wed, Jan 6th and the morning only on Thursday.  We’ll be open Thursday evening for Aerobics at 5 and Yoga-laties at 5:30.  I’m supposed to not be contagious by then -

January Contest!

Sign up now for the New Year - New You Contest at Jana’s Jym!

Cost is $15 - of which, $10 will go into the winners pot!  There will be two winners:  Most pounds lost, and highest percent of bodyweight lost.  (not bodyfat%).  Each time you weigh in, you must pay $1 for every pound gained from your last weigh-in.  Those dollars are added to the winner’s pot.  The two winners will split the pot on the 15th.

As always I encourage healthy, slow (1-2 pounds per week) weight loss through nutritious balanced eating and regular exercise and sleep patterns.  Each week, you’ll be asked to name one specific healthy goal you have for the week.  For example, “I’m going to eat spinach in a wrap sandwich on Mon, Wed, & Fri this week.”

Weigh-ins on Mondays (7am-10am; 4:30pm-8pm).  Contest begins Monday, Jan 11th and ends February 22nd.
